The Scout Network Development Areas
The International Self Development Area should help Scout Network Members to:
Increase awareness of local, national and international environmental issues. Appreciate the diverse world around us. Respect and accept cultures other than our own. Highlight our place within our local, national and international communities. Promote key global issues and how our actions at local level can help.
The Skills and Development Self Development Area aims to:
Increase awareness of health and welfare related issues Provide awareness of the importance of keeping fit Help members become more organised Help members accept more responsibility Help members undertake risk assessments Develop interpersonal skills Provide an opportunity to take part in the Adult Training Scheme. The Community Self Development Area aims to:
Promote understanding of our values and increase confidence in exploring beliefs Help members play an active role in the local community and wider society Help members learn to respect the values of others Work in different groupings Help members be effective in communications and interpersonal skills Reflect upon the benefit members actions have for them and the community
